Impulsa Mendoza has formally joined Pacto Global Argentina, the local network of the United Nations Global Compact, marking a new step in its strategy to integrate sustainability criteria and international standards into its institutional management.
Membership entails a commitment to advancing the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact, which focus on four key areas: human rights, labor standards, the environment, and anti-corruption.
“Formally joining this United Nations initiative represents another step forward in Impulsa Mendoza’s commitment to sustainable management aligned with international standards. It allows us to continue strengthening a strategy in which sustainability is embedded in our organizational decision-making and our long-term vision,” said Sebastián Piña, CEO of Impulsa Mendoza.
Membership will also enable the organization to participate in knowledge-sharing, training, and learning opportunities alongside companies and institutions working to implement sustainability best practices. Through these opportunities, Impulsa Mendoza aims to strengthen the tools and processes that contribute to creating economic, social, and environmental value.
Flavio Fuertes, Executive Director of the Argentine Network of the United Nations Global Compact, welcomed Impulsa Mendoza’s membership and said: “Impulsa Mendoza has joined this growing community, embracing the belief that doing business based on values is the only way to improve our impact on people and the planet. Another Step Forward in Impulsa Mendoza’s Sustainability Strategy
For Impulsa Mendoza, joining Pacto Global Argentina provides an additional tool to deepen the progress already made on sustainability and strengthen a management model based on environmental, social, and governance criteria.
Participation in the network will facilitate access to experiences, knowledge, and best practices developed by organizations across different sectors, while creating new opportunities for cooperation and shared learning.
It will also help consolidate a long-term vision in which sustainability, competitiveness, efficiency, and transparency are integrated into a single institutional strategy.
Through its membership, Impulsa Mendoza reaffirms its commitment to integrating sustainability into its day-to-day management and advancing development models capable of generating economic, social, and environmental value, in line with internationally recognized principles and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
About the United Nations Global Compact
The United Nations Global Compact originated from an initiative introduced in 1999 by then-UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, who called on business leaders gathered at the World Economic Forum in Davos to work with the United Nations around a shared set of values and principles. The initiative was officially launched in July 2000.
Since then, it has grown into the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, encouraging companies and organizations to align their strategies and operations with Ten universal Principles covering human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption.
The initiative also promotes private-sector participation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by encouraging organizations to embed sustainability into their strategies, management processes, and long-term decision-making.
