Impulsa Mendoza will hold the second edition of its Mining and Sustainability Workshop on August 6, creating a forum for dialogue that will bring together institutional representatives, mining companies, suppliers, specialists, organizations, and other stakeholders committed to the sustainable development of the mining industry.
The event will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Royal Princess Hotel in Mendoza City. Participation is free of charge, with prior registration required and limited seating available.
The workshop will feature speakers from academic institutions, international organizations, capital market entities, private companies, and public agencies. Presentations will be delivered by Mariana Kurgansky, from the Sustainable Practices Observatory at the University of Mendoza; Flavio Fuertes, from the United Nations Global Compact; Paula Cortijo, from Transparencia Latam; Sabrina Salvi, from the Mendoza Stock Exchange; Gabriel Vega, from BYMA; Carina Egea, from Portfolio S.A.; Diego Ledda, from AndesCrowd; Marcelo Caccavari, from the Don Ernesto Project; and Carla Ortega, Sustainability Coordinator at Mendoza’s Ministry of Energy and Environment.
Throughout the event, participants will learn about Impulsa Mendoza’s 2025 Sustainability Report, the company’s key milestones, its 2026 Strategy and Action Plan, its commitment to the United Nations Global Compact, sustainable financing tools for the mining value chain, the development of the Sustainable Suppliers Network, initiatives related to innovation, the circular economy, and decarbonization, as well as the sustainability initiatives led by the Ministry of Energy and Environment.
One of the workshop’s main highlights will be the presentation of the 2025 Sustainability Report, prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, including the GRI 14 Mining Sector Standard, as well as SASB Standards.
The report summarizes the company’s performance across its eight material topics and reviews some of its most significant institutional achievements over the past year, including the approval of the Environmental Impact Declaration for the PSJ Cobre Mendocino project, the consolidation of the Western Malargüe Mining District, progress on the Productive Roads Program, the opening of the Uspallata office, and the creation of the Andean Bridge initiative.
The report also highlights key performance indicators from 2025, including the training of 292 participants, the signing of seven strategic agreements with universities, industry associations, and public institutions, the rehabilitation of 230 kilometers of productive roads in Malargüe, and the completion of the company’s first institutional review process before the Honorable Court of Accounts of Mendoza.
As part of its continuous improvement process, attendees will participate in a collaborative workshop designed to review and update the priorities that guide Impulsa Mendoza’s sustainability strategy, incorporating feedback from different stakeholder groups.
Sustainable Financing and Capital Markets
Experts from BYMA, Portfolio S.A., and AndesCrowd will present capital market instruments and financing alternatives aimed at supporting the development of mining projects and supplier companies.
The workshop will also feature experiences related to research, development, and innovation in strategic minerals for the energy transition, along with initiatives that promote sustainability, transparency, and local development as key pillars for the growth of mining in Mendoza.
