The Andean Bridge Connected Mining and Capital in Salta

Impulsa Mendoza joined The Andean Bridge’s Project Development Workshop in Salta, an IN-VR event that brought together mining projects from Northwest Argentina (NOA), industry experts and investors to explore the requirements for accessing international capital markets.

Impulsa Mendoza took part in The Andean Bridge’s Project Development Workshop in Salta, organized by global energy investment platform IN-VR to help mining projects from Northwest Argentina (NOA) prepare to access international capital markets.

The workshop brought mining companies together with experts in technical, financial, legal and ESG matters, as well as representatives from the global advisory and early-stage investment ecosystem. Participants included renowned mining law expert Bernardo Saravia Frías and Guillaume Légaré, Head of South America at the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX Venture Exchange.

Sebastián Piña, CEO of Impulsa Mendoza, was among the speakers, delivering a presentation on the conditions jurisdictions need to create to attract investment and support the development of new mining projects.

In his presentation, “Building Investable Mining Jurisdictions,” Piña shared Mendoza’s experience and the steps the province has taken to create an investment-friendly environment where projects can advance and gain access to new sources of financing.

The Project Development Workshop focused on one of the main challenges facing junior mining companies: how to prepare projects to access international capital markets.

Légaré outlined the opportunities available to mining companies through the Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange, as well as the steps companies need to take when considering a potential listing.

Experts discussed the key factors that determine whether a project is ready for the capital markets, from the quality and standards of its technical information to its legal and financial structure. Topics included NI 43-101 standards, mining listing requirements, titles and permits, corporate structuring and preparation for an initial public offering (IPO).

The workshop also explored different ways to raise capital, the Capital Pool Company (CPC) program, and the role of early-stage investors, particularly for projects that still need to advance exploration, studies and resource definition before moving into later stages of development.

ESG criteria were also part of the discussion, with particular attention to the disclosure requirements mining companies face when seeking access to international markets and the information investors consider before making investment decisions.

Engineering was another key focus. Experts examined its role throughout the project lifecycle, from exploration through feasibility, as a way to reduce risk and generate the information needed to support investment decisions.

Bringing Mendoza to Investors and Industry Experts

Piña’s presentation brought the perspective of mining jurisdictions into the discussion, highlighting the role governments play in creating the conditions needed for projects to move forward.

Mendoza’s experience showcased the work carried out to strengthen the province’s position as a mining investment destination through a strategy that combines project development, stronger institutions and engagement with companies and investors.

One of the final sessions focused specifically on early-stage investors and the factors they consider when evaluating mining projects in Northwest Argentina. The workshop also reviewed the full development path of a mining project, from discovery to development, and the challenges companies face at each stage.

Impulsa Mendoza’s participation in The Andean Bridge provided an opportunity to showcase the province’s experience to stakeholders connected to international financing and strengthen ties with an ecosystem that plays a key role in turning mining projects into new investment opportunities.
