Impulsa Mendoza participated in the 40th Conference on Economic Sciences organized by the National University of Cuyo (UNCUYO), which brought together teachers, researchers, students, graduates, and local, national, and international specialists over three days to discuss current challenges and connect them with academic and scientific knowledge.
During the event, Impulsa Mendoza took part in two Financial Education sessions led by Agustín Roca, from “ByMA Educa,” which brought together 350 secondary school students and teachers as part of “Impulsando el Conocimiento.”
Participants included students and teachers from Martín Zapata School, San Andrés School, Liceo Agrícola, Padre Valentín Bonetti Institute, and Rainbow School, among other educational institutions and interested teachers who joined the initiative.
The activities were organized jointly with the Center for Economic Research and Outreach (CIVE) and ByMA Educa, and were complemented by an Impulsando el Conocimiento stand.
In addition, Sofía Raich, Coordinator of Administration, Finance and Sustainable Development, and Lucía Farrando, Coordinator of Legal Affairs and Compliance at Impulsa Mendoza, presented the Mendoza Financial Hub for Mining to students, specialists, and representatives from the academic, professional, business, and government sectors.
Upcoming editions
The strong demand and fully booked sessions have led to plans for a new edition in October. In the coming days, Impulsa Mendoza and ByMA Educa will open registration for schools interested in taking part in the next Financial Education and Mining sessions.
Financing for mining development
Impulsa Mendoza’s participation in the Conference on Economic Sciences also included the presentation “Mendoza Financial Hub for Mining,” held at Lecture Hall 5 of the Faculty of Economic Sciences.
The presentation was delivered by Sofía Raich, Coordinator of Administration, Finance and Sustainable Development, and Lucía Farrando, Coordinator of Legal Affairs and Compliance at Impulsa Mendoza.
During the session, Lucía Farrando and Sofía Raich presented the work being carried out by Impulsa Mendoza to connect mining projects with investors and broaden the financing alternatives available to the sector.
One of the main topics was the development of Mendoza as a financial hub for mining, capable of bringing together the financial, legal, technical, and management expertise required to support project development and connect projects with sources of capital.
Particular attention was given to the Closed-End Mining Investment Fund, designed to channel capital into mining projects, mainly those related to copper and other minerals.
“Impulsando el Conocimiento” space
Throughout the three-day event, Impulsa Mendoza was also present with an “Impulsando el Conocimiento” stand, its educational and outreach program aimed at strengthening training and building new capabilities related to mining development.
The stand showcased the different opportunities offered through the program, including free online courses and in-person workshops for students, entrepreneurs, professionals, and local SMEs.
Connecting knowledge with real-world challenges
This year marked the 40th edition of UNCUYO’s Conference on Economic Sciences, an event aimed at connecting academic and scientific knowledge with the challenges of the socioeconomic environment, while promoting analysis and the search for solutions to business and public policy issues.
Over three days, the Faculty of Economic Sciences opened its doors to share, discuss, and connect scientific knowledge with current challenges, fostering critical debate, professional development, and collaboration across different disciplines.
As in its previous 39 editions, the Conference was aimed at teacher-researchers, students, graduates, and members of the public interested in the topics addressed, with the participation of local, national, and international researchers and specialists.
