Impulsa Mendoza has opened applications for 35 scholarships for its English for the Mining Industry Program, a training initiative developed in partnership with Interaction Language Studio to strengthen the English communication skills of professionals seeking to enter or advance within the mining value chain.
The initiative is part of the Impulsando el Conocimiento program, which creates training opportunities aligned with the mining sector’s current and future workforce needs.
“The growth of mining in Mendoza requires professionals who are increasingly prepared to work in international environments, where English is an essential daily working tool. Communication with suppliers, contractors, clients, and technical teams from different countries, as well as access to specialized documentation and cutting-edge technologies, makes English proficiency a strategic skill for improving career opportunities and professional development,” said Sebastián Piña, CEO of Impulsa Mendoza.
The program has been designed using the English for Specific Purposes (ESP) approach and the Business English as a Lingua Franca (BELF) methodology, both widely used in international corporate training programs.
This means participants will learn through real-world workplace scenarios, including practical case studies, meetings, emails, presentations, technical reports, and everyday communication with international stakeholders across the mining industry.
The course runs for four months, with classes scheduled to begin during the second half of August. It will be delivered entirely online through a combination of live virtual classes and independent learning activities on a digital campus, providing flexibility while maintaining a high academic standard. Each class will have a maximum of 12 participants, allowing for personalized instruction and greater opportunities to practice spoken English.
How to Apply According to Your English Level
The program will be offered at two proficiency levels.
The A1 (Beginner) level is designed for participants who need to develop basic communication skills, including project presentations, supplier interactions, and industry-specific mining vocabulary.
The A2 (Elementary) level will focus on understanding mining processes, reading technical reports, and participating in professional meetings, with content tailored specifically to the mining industry.
In addition to language instruction, the program includes intercultural communication skills, professional communication strategies, and mining-specific terminology. The objective is for participants to immediately apply what they learn in their workplace and improve their ability to contribute to international mining projects.
During the application process, candidates will be asked to indicate their current English proficiency level. Afterwards, the academic team at Interaction Language Studio will conduct a diagnostic assessment to determine each participant’s final placement and assign them to the appropriate group. Continuous assessments will be conducted throughout the program, followed by a final integrative evaluation based on real professional scenarios.
