Impulsa Mendoza Opens Public Tender to Continue Development of the El Seguro Copper Project

Impulsa Mendoza announced the opening of a public tender to select the company that will lead the next exploration stage of the "El Seguro" mining project, located in the department of Malargüe. This call is the result of a working model that the Mendoza-based company has been developing, aimed at adding value to strategic mining assets, promoting investment, and creating conditions that turn the province's geological potential into concrete projects.

A strategy to develop projects and attract investment

Impulsa Mendoza’s objective is to develop, promote, and accelerate investment, with the aim of leveraging sustainable mining development in the province.

Within this framework, the company works on identifying and evaluating opportunities, consolidating geological and technical information, reducing the uncertainties typical of early-stage projects, and coordinating with potential national and international investors.

The purpose is to help projects with potential advance to a level of maturity that allows for private-sector development, multiplying the possibilities for investment, job creation, and economic development for Mendoza.

“El Seguro clearly reflects the role we want Impulsa Mendoza to play: developing, promoting, and accelerating mining investment. We acquired a private project, created the conditions to explore it, invested in knowledge, and now we are inviting the private sector to continue its development through a competitive process,” said Sebastián Piña, CEO of Impulsa Mendoza.

El Seguro, the flagship project of Impulsa Mendoza’s strategy

Located in the department of Malargüe, “El Seguro” was acquired by Impulsa Mendoza from a private owner. It later became the spearhead project of the Malargüe Western Mining District, obtained the Environmental Impact Declaration for exploration, and was the subject of a major process of geological and technical data generation. This work increased interest in the project and created the conditions to move forward into this new stage.

In this regard, Piña noted that “over the past few years, Impulsa Mendoza carried out various actions to gather and analyze available information, evaluate geological potential, and promote the project. El Seguro is a clear example of how a strategy can be designed—aimed at potential investors—to turn a mining asset into a concrete investment opportunity.”

The provincial company brought together historical background data, carried out geochemical campaigns, geophysical studies, multispectral analyses, radiometric dating, and new field campaigns, building a technical foundation that reduced uncertainties and improved the quality of investment decisions.

An open and transparent process

This tender process begins from a private initiative submitted in accordance with Impulsa Mendoza’s Purchasing, Contracting, and Asset Transfer Policy. In this way, the private initiative triggers a new stage of the project, while the public tender guarantees competition, transparency, and selection of the best proposal.

Given the strategic relevance and commercial value of this information for the mining business, and in order to protect the project’s competitive position, access to it by interested parties will be subject to confidentiality conditions and to the purchase of the terms and conditions document (pliego de bases y condiciones) upon payment of the corresponding fee.

The call will also be published through the mechanisms established by the Purchasing Policy, and all corresponding documentation will be made available to potential interested parties.

In this way, Impulsa Mendoza reaffirms a management model geared toward generating investment projects, promoting private-sector participation, and consolidating an ecosystem for the responsible development of Mendoza’s mining potential.
