What is the Northern Mendoza Mining District?
The Northern Mendoza Mining District (MNDM) is an initiative led by the Government of Mendoza aimed at organizing, planning, and promoting mining development in the northern part of the province through an integrated territorial approach, the generation of baseline environmental information, and coordination with the holders of mining rights located within the district area.
The new district forms part of the Government of Mendoza’s strategic planning efforts to further position the province within the mining sector through tools that establish an institutional, legal, and environmental framework for the development of mining activities from a territorial perspective.
According to information from SEGEMAR (Argentine Geological and Mining Service), the area presents geological characteristics similar to other major Andean deposits with significant copper and gold potential.
