Mining Districts
Malargüe Western Mining District
A comprehensive development to transform the southern part of the province into a modern and sustainable mining hub.
Purpose
Develop a mining district in the department of Malargüe that integrates infrastructure, exploration, investment, employment and international standards.
Main actions
- Main actions: Delineation of exploration areas across nearly 20,000 km².
- Preparation and publication of sector reports and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for multiple projects (more than 65 areas).
- Creation of a georeferenced map to provide details for each project.
Expected impact
- Diversification of the provincial production matrix.
- Job creation in exploration and, eventually, production.
El Seguro
Responsible mining exploration in a strategic area of high potential.
Purpose
Develop the El Seguro copper project to strengthen modernized mining exploration, with a focus on environmental sustainability and the generation of productive value.
Main actions
- Construction of the road access to the project area.
- Technical and environmental inspections to verify compliance with regulations.
- Progress in geological studies and preparation of basic infrastructure for future stages.
Expected impact
- Boost copper exploration, a key mineral for the energy transition and industrial sectors.
- Job creation and boosting the local economy in Malargüe.
- Development of a mining project with criteria of transparency and environmental control.
Productive paths
Strategic road connectivity for the development of the southern province.
Purpose
Improve and expand the road infrastructure of Malargüe and surrounding production areas, facilitating safe and efficient access to mining, tourism and logistics corridors.

- Opening of paths.
- Paving and consolidation of strategic routes.
- Road safety works and structural maintenance.
Expected impact
- Reduction of logistics times and transport costs.
- Greater accessibility for mining and energy investments.

Potasio Río Colorado
Reactivation of a strategic resource for Mendoza’s export matrix.
Purpose
To develop the potassium deposit for economic exploitation under global standards of efficiency, environment and transparency.

- Attracting investors to launch the project.
- Update of technical and environmental studies.
- Creation of the necessary infrastructure for operation.

- Generation of direct and indirect employment.

Hierro Indio
Recovery of a historic project with potential for the steel industry.
Purpose
Develop the Hierro Indio deposit to produce iron, boost employment and strengthen the national industry.

- Work coordinated with environmental control and citizen participation.
