Mendoza to Host the 2026 Sustainable Mining Summit

The event will take place on November 19–20, 2026, at the Hilton Mendoza Hotel, bringing together national and international leaders committed to advancing modern, sustainable mining as a driver of economic growth and energy transition.

Mendoza is once again preparing to host the Sustainable Mining Summit, one of Argentina’s leading forums dedicated to discussing the present and future of the mining industry. The 2026 edition will be held on November 19 and 20 at the Hilton Mendoza Hotel and is expected to bring together government officials, mining companies, investors, academics, international organizations, suppliers, and industry experts from across the globe.

The event builds upon the success of previous editions and reinforces Mendoza’s growing role as a key destination for mining investment, innovation, and sustainable development. Since its launch, the Summit has become an important platform for dialogue among stakeholders seeking to promote responsible mining practices while maximizing economic and social benefits.

The 2024 edition represented a milestone for the province, bringing together governors from Argentina’s Copper Roundtable provinces, mining executives, international experts, financial institutions, and representatives from various productive sectors. That gathering helped reposition Mendoza within national and international conversations about sustainable mining, project financing, and long-term investment opportunities.

The 2026 Summit arrives at a particularly significant moment for Mendoza. Over the past several years, the province has regained prominence within Argentina’s mining agenda by advancing exploration projects, strengthening institutional capabilities, and developing new tools designed to attract investment, improve access to financing, and support territorial development.

This year’s event will seek to deepen collaboration among governments, industry leaders, financial markets, scientific institutions, technology providers, and local communities. Discussions will focus on how mining can contribute to economic development, job creation, energy transition objectives, and the competitiveness of Argentina in an increasingly resource-driven global economy.

Three Strategic Themes

The Summit agenda will be organized around three major thematic pillars:

Institutionality and Governance
Discussions will focus on regulatory frameworks, public policy, legal certainty, institutional strengthening, and the role of governments in creating favorable conditions for sustainable mining investment.

Environment and Society
Panels and workshops will address environmental stewardship, community engagement, social development, biodiversity protection, transparency, and best practices for building trust among stakeholders.

Economy and Finance
Participants will explore project financing, capital markets, investment trends, supplier development, innovation, infrastructure, and the strategic importance of critical minerals for global energy transition efforts.

By bringing together representatives from government, mining companies, investors, multilateral organizations, universities, and research institutions, the Summit aims to foster knowledge sharing, identify emerging trends, and encourage collaborative solutions to industry challenges.

Mendoza Arrives at the Summit with Significant Progress

Malargüe Western Mining District (MDMO)

Over the past several years, Mendoza has consolidated one of the most significant mining exploration initiatives in Argentina through the Malargüe Western Mining District. The program has streamlined environmental evaluations and project approvals, creating favorable conditions for new investment and strengthening Mendoza’s position as an emerging mining destination.

Northern Mendoza Mining District (MNDM)

The province has also launched the Northern Mendoza Mining District, a strategic initiative designed to organize and promote the development of areas with significant geological potential. The program introduces a coordinated territorial approach that integrates environmental assessment and long-term planning tools.

The Andean Bridge

Mendoza has made substantial progress in developing innovative mechanisms that connect mining projects with investors and capital markets. Initiatives such as the Mining Financial Hub and The Andean Bridge seek to improve access to financing and support mining ventures at different stages of development.

Supplier Development and Knowledge Creation

The province continues to invest in workforce development, university partnerships, technical training programs, and local supplier growth. These efforts aim to maximize the economic and social impact of mining while creating new opportunities for regional businesses and professionals.

International Positioning

Mendoza’s active participation in international conferences, investment forums, and industry events has strengthened the province’s visibility within the global mining sector. These engagements have generated new opportunities for cooperation, investment, and knowledge exchange with leading institutions and companies worldwide.

A Vision for the Future

Through this new edition of the Sustainable Mining Summit, Mendoza reaffirms its commitment to modern, transparent, and sustainable mining. As global demand for critical minerals continues to grow, the province seeks to position itself as a strategic contributor to the energy transition while serving as a leading forum for dialogue, consensus-building, and innovation within the mining industry.

The 2026 Sustainable Mining Summit is expected to further strengthen Mendoza’s reputation as a hub for responsible mining development, bringing together the voices and ideas that will help shape the future of the sector in Argentina and beyond.
