Fundación Plan Pilares, an initiative promoted by Impulsa Mendoza focused on strengthening the mining-metallurgical supplier ecosystem and developing local capabilities, and Chile’s Association of Industrial Mining Suppliers (APRIMIN), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a framework for cooperation aimed at promoting modern, sustainable and inclusive mining, with a focus on regional integration and strengthening the productive networks of both territories.
The agreement seeks to create a joint working space to promote the exchange of knowledge, experience and capabilities that contribute to improving the competitiveness of suppliers from Mendoza and Chile, fostering innovation, strengthening human capital development and encouraging the creation of trusted relationships with local communities. It also includes the promotion of initiatives aimed at strengthening productive linkages between Argentina and Chile, facilitating the exchange of best practices and exploring opportunities for collaboration in innovation, sustainability, technological development and training.
Within this framework, Mendoza’s Minister of Energy and Environment, Jimena Latorre, highlighted this institutional partnership as a positive step toward strengthening regional cooperation around mining focused on sustainability, productive development and quality employment.
Sebastián Piña, CEO of Impulsa Mendoza, emphasized that this alliance represents an opportunity to advance a shared vision of territorially based productive development, promoting a mining industry capable of combining economic growth, environmental sustainability and the generation of local capabilities.
Meanwhile, APRIMIN General Manager Paula Frigerio stressed that “the connection between suppliers and productive ecosystems from Mendoza and Chile creates an important space to share experiences, raise standards and project greater regional integration for the benefit of mining development and its value chains.”
The MOU includes the development of a joint work agenda that may involve information exchange, the organization of activities between both parties and the promotion of innovation and training initiatives, creating a flexible platform for future specific cooperation actions.
The signing reflects the willingness of both institutions to contribute, from their respective fields, to a 21st-century mining industry based on knowledge, sustainability, territorial integration and regional cooperation with an international outlook.
