As part of an ongoing international engagement strategy, authorities from the Government of Mendoza and representatives from Impulsa Mendoza held a meeting with Chile’s new ambassador to Argentina, Gonzalo Uriarte Herrera, to advance a joint agenda focused on mining, energy and logistics integration between both countries.
The meeting brought together Chilean Ambassador Gonzalo Uriarte Herrera; Mendoza’s Undersecretary of Energy and Mining and President of Impulsa Mendoza, Manuel Sánchez Bandini; Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Energy and Environment, Manuel López; and the Government of Mendoza’s Undersecretary of Institutional Relations, José María Videla Sáenz. Chile’s Consul in Mendoza, David Quiroga, and Deputy Consul Sergio Marinkovich also participated in the discussions.
During the meeting, officials exchanged information on the strategic mining and energy plans currently being developed in Mendoza, as well as logistics projects linked to regional integration with Chile. The dialogue focused on identifying opportunities for binational cooperation that could strengthen economic development on both sides of the Andes.

“The meeting included a joint review of the province’s mining, energy and logistics plans in order to align projects on both the Chilean and Argentine sides and define a common regional development roadmap,” said Sánchez Bandini.
Authorities also shared progress and experiences from each jurisdiction with the goal of exchanging knowledge, building on lessons learned and reinforcing an integrated regional vision.
“This coordination seeks to consolidate a more competitive Andean region, with aligned capabilities for the development of mining, energy and logistics infrastructure projects,” Sánchez Bandini added.
Ambassador Uriarte highlighted the interest of President José Antonio Kast’s administration in deepening economic ties with Argentina, particularly with Mendoza, by encouraging the participation of Chilean companies in investment projects and strengthening commercial relations between both countries.
One of the central topics of the meeting was the mining-financial hub that Mendoza is promoting through Andean Bridge, an initiative designed to connect mining projects across the Andean region with international capital markets.
Developed through public-private collaboration, the platform aims to facilitate access to financing, create networking opportunities between investors and projects, and position Mendoza as a strategic node within the Andean mining ecosystem.
The Chilean ambassador particularly emphasized the opportunities presented by the initiative, noting Chile’s extensive mining experience and Mendoza’s growth potential within a framework of institutional stability and clear regulatory conditions. He also underscored the geographic proximity and historic ties between both territories as key factors for advancing a shared regional agenda.
Energy and Shared Initiatives
The meeting also addressed energy projects of common interest and the importance of strengthening ties between companies from both countries. In that regard, officials highlighted the need to create permanent spaces for dialogue and continuity within the bilateral agenda, both in Mendoza and Chile, to facilitate investments and promote the development of shared initiatives.
The coordination between the public and private sectors, together with stronger institutional channels, was identified as a central element in consolidating this integration strategy, which seeks to position Mendoza as a reliable and competitive partner for the development of strategic projects throughout the Andean region.
