As part of the Impulsando el Conocimiento program, Impulsa Mendoza will launch the training cycle “Proyecta Proveedores Uspallata,” an initiative focused on enhancing local business opportunities and strengthening the capabilities of entrepreneurs, SMEs and potential suppliers linked to the mining value chain.
The program is being developed together with the Mendoza Chamber of Mining Entrepreneurs (CaMEM) and the Mujeres Que Inspiran Foundation. It is designed to help local entrepreneurs and companies understand how the mining industry operates while strengthening their capabilities to grow and compete.
In this regard, Sebastián Piña, CFO of Impulsa Mendoza, stated: “We are entering a new development cycle based on modern and sustainable mining. To take advantage of the opportunities ahead, it is essential to be prepared, trained and committed to the highest sustainability standards.”
Although the program’s contents are directly related to the mining sector, the approach is transversal, since the industry involves associated activities such as logistics, industrial maintenance, technical services, catering, tourism, construction and supply provision, among others.
In this way, the initiative seeks to expand local economic development opportunities by promoting productive diversification and integrating more businesses into larger-scale value chains.
Program Structure
The program is organized into three sequential modules, which are not taught simultaneously, allowing participants to complete the full cycle if they choose:
Module 1: Understanding the Mining Industry and Its Opportunities
This module introduces the overall operation of the mining industry, exploring the life cycle of a mining project and the roles of the different stakeholders involved. It analyzes how supply chains operate, the logic of demand and the industry’s work culture, which is based on safety, quality and standardization. It also provides tools to identify real opportunities for local suppliers and transfer best practices to other organized economic activities.
Module 2: Preparing Your Company for New Productive Opportunities
This module focuses on strengthening business management in order to access new markets. It addresses business formalization, financial planning and the use of simple and scalable administrative tools. It also covers the development of professional business proposals, introduces basic quality concepts and transversal standards, and promotes the professionalization of services as a key factor for expanding and sustaining business opportunities.
Module 3: Safety, Sustainability and Risk Management as Competitive Advantages
This module focuses on safety, sustainability and risk management as competitive pillars. It presents Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental principles and regulations, together with the basic requirements demanded from suppliers in highly demanding environments. It also introduces sustainability standards and tools to manage operational and organizational risks, highlighting their practical application in sectors such as tourism, industry, logistics and services.
Each module will consist of five in-person classes, held once a week, with a duration of three hours per session. Classes will take place at Impulsa Mendoza’s offices in Uspallata, and spots are limited.
The program is scheduled to begin in March.
