During Argentina Rocks 2026, the international geology and exploration conference that brought together geologists, executives, investors, suppliers, and industry leaders in Mendoza, Impulsa Mendoza and PSJ Cobre Mendocino signed a cooperation agreement aimed at advancing joint initiatives focused on community development, human capital formation, and the strengthening of local capabilities linked to the province’s mining sector, with a particular focus on the town of Uspallata.
The agreement was signed by Sebastián Piña, CEO of Impulsa Mendoza, and Fabián Gregorio, CEO and President of PSJ Cobre Mendocino. Also participating in the signing ceremony were Valentina Cassino, Community Relations and Communications Manager at PSJ; Sofía Raich, Finance and Sustainability Coordinator at Impulsa Mendoza; and Carlos Fiochetta, Institutional Relations Officer at Impulsa Mendoza.
Piña highlighted that the agreement aligns with Mendoza’s strategy to promote sustainable mining with strong local participation.
“This agreement allows us to continue strengthening collaborative spaces among organizations working toward the development of a sustainable mining industry in Mendoza, while promoting local capabilities, local suppliers, and growth opportunities for the province,” said the CEO of Impulsa Mendoza.
The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation, mutual assistance, and institutional, technical, and professional exchange between both organizations. Among its main areas of collaboration are educational programs, workforce development initiatives, community strengthening efforts, the creation of local capabilities, and support for productive projects in the regions where mining activities are taking place.

Building Local Opportunities
According to Impulsa Mendoza, agreements such as this one help deepen collaboration among the public sector, private companies, and local communities, ensuring that mining development translates into tangible opportunities for Mendoza residents.
In this regard, Sofía Raich emphasized the importance of fostering long-term working relationships among the various stakeholders that make up Mendoza’s mining ecosystem.
“These types of agreements help create concrete working relationships among industry stakeholders, promoting training initiatives, supplier development programs, and territorial collaboration linked to mining activity,” she stated.
For his part, Fabián Gregorio highlighted the value of institutional cooperation in maximizing the positive impact of projects developed within local communities.
“I firmly believe that when efforts are combined, the results improve. At PSJ Cobre Mendocino, we can contribute the experience we have built through our work in the territory and in the development of the project, while combining it with the momentum that Impulsa Mendoza has brought to the growth of the mining industry in the province. This agreement allows us to work together on initiatives related to training, community strengthening, and local capacity building, all of which are essential for ensuring that development reaches Uspallata, Las Heras, and Mendoza in a meaningful way,” he said.
Valentina Cassino also highlighted the collaborative work that both organizations have already been carrying out in Uspallata and other communities connected to the project.
“This agreement strengthens a collaborative effort that we have already been building on the ground. Impulsa Mendoza’s presence in Uspallata has helped broaden the conversation around mining, productive development, and local capabilities. It complements a broader agenda that we are promoting through a local development roundtable aimed at creating new opportunities for the community, together with Impulsa Mendoza, the Uspallata Chamber of Commerce, the Municipality of Las Heras, and other local stakeholders,” she said.
The signing of the agreement reinforces Impulsa Mendoza’s strategy of promoting cooperation initiatives that contribute to the consolidation of a more integrated mining value chain, with greater participation from Mendoza-based suppliers, expanded workforce training opportunities, and new avenues for community development. It also supports the current stage of work being carried out by PSJ Cobre Mendocino, which is focused on final plant design and preparatory studies ahead of construction, while strengthening a shared agenda based on responsible planning, institutional dialogue, and sustainable territorial development.
