The transition to clean energy is about changing the way we produce and consume energy to move away from fossil fuels. The aim is to adopt renewable energy sources and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Renewable energies, such as solar and wind, need to be converted into electricity in order to be exploited, and this requires equipment for generating electricity, transmission lines, engines and batteries of all types, and one of the main components of such equipment is copper.

Some characteristics of this mineral are malleability, corrosion resistance and durability, making copper an ideal element for the manufacture of electrical cables, electronic components and transport systems. It is also one of the few materials that can be recycled indefinitely without losing its properties, making it a renewable and sustainable resource.
That is why copper is the “star” mineral of the energy transition: to reduce the environmental impact of the production and use of energy, more copper is needed. And its enormous potential for development is specifically in Andean provinces like Mendoza.
