Minister of Energy and Environment Jimena Latorre announced the appointment during a meeting with key mining industry stakeholders in Buenos Aires, held as part of the presentation of an international event that Mendoza will host in April to connect Andean projects with global sources of financing.
Sebastián Piña was formally introduced as the new Chief Executive Officer of Impulsa Mendoza, marking the start of a phase focused on accelerating strategic investments and linking local projects with international capital markets.
The announcement was made in Buenos Aires during the launch of Andean Bridge, an event led by Minister Latorre that brought together representatives from leading companies, multilateral organizations, embassies, industry associations, and capital market participants involved in productive development and mining.
The event was co-organized by Impulsa Mendoza along with TCA Tanoira Cassagne, the Toronto Stock Exchange, IN-VR, Bolsa de Comercio de Mendoza and The Net Zero Circle. During the event, the Mendoza provincial government reinforced its financial positioning strategy for Andean mining and confirmed that the province will host the Andean Capital Forum from April 20 to 22.
A New Stage for Impulsa Mendoza
Piña previously served as the organization’s Chief Financial Officer. His appointment reflects a strategic decision to further strengthen Impulsa Mendoza’s technical and financial capabilities in order to improve access to capital and translate the province’s strengthened institutional standing into concrete investment projects.
“I take on the role of Chief Executive Officer of Impulsa Mendoza convinced that we are entering a new phase in the province’s mining development,” Piña said during the event.
“Following a period of institutional reorganization and the repositioning of Mendoza on the global investment map, the challenge now is clear: move from positioning to action by accelerating exploration and improving access to capital through effective integration with international financing networks,” he added.
Piña holds a master’s degree in Econometrics from the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo. In addition to his financial leadership experience, he also teaches at the university level, combining academic training with practical expertise in financial structuring.
With this appointment, Impulsa Mendoza strengthens a leadership approach aimed at turning investor interest into tangible projects and reinforcing Mendoza’s role as a regional platform connecting capital, technical expertise, and sustainable productive development.
