The copper exploration project led by Impulsa Mendoza is making progress on key infrastructure and continues to move forward under technical oversight, in full compliance with current mining and environmental regulations.
Impulsa Mendoza is advancing critical infrastructure and continuing the development of the “El Seguro” copper exploration project, following technical guidelines and within the framework of applicable mining and environmental laws.
In this context, the Mining Environmental Authority — composed of the Directorate of Mining and the Directorate of Environmental Management and Oversight, together with the Mining Environmental Police (PAM) — conducted a technical and environmental inspection at the project site. The visit was led by the Director of Mining, Jerónimo Shantal, and allowed officials to verify on site the conditions related to the installation of the camp and the construction of access roads, two key milestones for the exploration phase.

El Seguro moves forward in Malargüe
During the visit, technical teams confirmed compliance with the requirements established by the Environmental Impact Declaration (DIA) and current mining and environmental regulations. The evaluation included the camp’s location, the construction features of the access roads, the implementation of environmental management measures, and the operational safety conditions planned for this stage of the project.
These developments follow Impulsa Mendoza’s approval from the Mining Environmental Authority — later ratified by the Provincial Legislature — to build the access road to the exploration area.
This infrastructure is being developed in an area that previously lacked adequate road connectivity and will ensure both project logistics and monitoring and oversight activities by the relevant authorities.
“The opening of access roads and the installation of the camp carried out by Impulsa Mendoza, with the support of the Provincial Highway Directorate, represent essential steps to begin technical fieldwork, always under a framework of ongoing environmental monitoring. At this stage, the focus is on ensuring that every intervention is carried out with minimal impact, proper land-use planning, and strict compliance with required standards,” said Guadalupe López Arce, geologist at Impulsa Mendoza.
A strategic initiative
“The El Seguro project is part of the Malargüe Western Mining District I, a strategic initiative aimed at promoting mineral exploration under criteria of sustainability, environmental oversight, and institutional transparency,” Shantal explained during the inspection.
El Seguro thus joins the portfolio of projects advancing in the southern part of the province under a model of planned mining, with clear rules and environmental supervision. The presence of technical teams in the field reinforces the oversight and support framework that characterizes the development of the activity in the province.
The project focuses on copper exploration, a mineral considered globally strategic due to its central role in the energy transition, the electrification of the economy, and the development of industrial infrastructure. In this context, progress at El Seguro represents not only technical advancement on the ground, but also the continuation of a public policy designed to align Mendoza’s geological potential with stringent environmental standards and transparent institutional processes.
As the next phases move forward, the project will remain subject to evaluation, monitoring, and regulatory oversight, ensuring that each step complies with the Environmental Impact Declaration and the current legal framework. In this way, El Seguro continues to advance as part of a provincial strategy that combines productive development, public oversight, and environmental sustainability.
